Reflections at the end of the 2010-2011 school year

As the end of the school year quickly approaches, I am quite sad with the prospect of not knowing my place in education. With the recent budget proposals, and the potential for not having a teaching position in Pre-k, I must say, I feel out of sorts. As this could be a concern for all teachers (loss of jobs), the way that I am dealing with the unknown is: Trusting that God is closing one door and opening another. I have no idea where I will be in August, but nothing is ever CERTAIN, right? I must say that deep down I am slightly excited that a change is in store. Change means growth! Please e-mail your senators and let your voice be heard! Let's save education!

Chapter 1 ~ Daniels and Bizar

I would love to teach at a school like Waters School. Not only do they use best practices consistently, but the parent participation and the experiences are phenomenal. The students are so engaged and involved. I am sure that this requires a great deal of planning and organization. In addition, collaberation with other teachers since the experiences are integrated across the subject areas. I also like the determination and patience that the teachers, parents and students have since nature does not always provide the best conditions for being outside. But, they continue on despite the conditions. I also love the journaling reflections. What an awesome way to assess.
Just a test!
